LAST MAN STANDING. A worker—likely at the London/Hendon plant—welded the “SCHWEPPES” lettering onto this sack truck, probably back in the 1930s. I brought it back from London-Gatwick as checked luggage, designated as a “golf caddy.” Authentic Schweppes factories have ceased to exist since the 1990s; today, most Schweppes beverages worldwide are produced by Coca-Cola or Pepsi, and in Germany by Krombacher Brewery. As one of the world’s oldest global brands, it deserves to live on in the hands of collectors—the “spiritschweppes´ fizzy family”—across the globe. www.hjktext.de
